Typically Scout Groups meet once a week in a local Scout hall Church hall or community centre to learn new skills and earn badges. Its volunteer leaders are highly trained and experienced in outdoor skills leadership and child care and these leaders usually take the youths on outings once every couple months. Younger children might have opportunities to tour the local fire hall have sleepovers at the aquarium go to the indoor climbing gym and camp overnight at nearby sites. Older youth take on more challenging activities such as full-fledged backpacking expeditions or multi-day tours in a canoe or kayak. Through these activities participants gain self-confidence build their independence and become proficient in new skills.

Founded by Lord Robert Baden-Powell in 1906 Scouting has since expanded all across the globe to encompass 216 countries and territories. In Canada Scouting is divided into five co-ed Program Sections to accommodate different age groups.

  • Beavers (5-7 years old)

Scout programs are entirely run by volunteer leaders typically young adults and parents of participants. We provide all necessary leadership safety and outdoor training to our leaders so enthusiasm ability to work with children and a willingness to learn are all that's needed to become a leader.
